FEES ASSOCIATED WITH REPRODUCTIVE TISSUE STORAGE
New York Cryo maintains the highest standards of reproductive tissue
banking and is committed to providing the most secure and safe facility
for our patients specimens. To that end we have developed standards
that insure this and process only one specimen at a time using only
‘single use’ supplies. These standards have been reviewed and approved
by the agencies that license, accredit and inspect New York Cryo.
Namely, the New York State Department of Health (DOH), The American
Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and The Federal Drug Adinistration
(FDA) and have therefore become our Required Standards. In recognition
of these high standards New York Cryo has received the status of
Accreditation by the AATB. New York Cryo is one of only ten
Reproductive Tissue Banks in the United States that has achieved this
status.
Our Standards require the following, all of which are usually done
during your initial visit to our office. Specimen processing ($300) and
storage ($575 for the first year) are required to be done at our
facility. Please contact us for fees for your particular needs.
1. Evaluation for sexually transmitted diseases and factors that might affect fertility:
Medical history
Physical examination
Blood studies
Other studies as indicated (e.g.,sonogram
2. Evaluation of the semen specimen (semen analysis) for quality
and to insure the absence of infection. This evaluation also allows the
Laboratory Director to define the best processing and freezing
technique to be used to insure optimum survival of the specimen.
3. Specimen processing with quality control checks at each step. This is crucial to assure optimum quality of the stored specimen.
4. Storage in a secure facility with 24/7 monitoring and backup systems
